PRESS RELEASE

The opening of Galleri Tapper-Popermajer in Teckomatorp

After intense renovation work, Galleri Tapper-Popermajer finally opens its new and exclusive exhibition spaces to international contemporary art. The gallery, with a strategic location in southern Sweden with direct connections by train from Malmö and Helsingborg, welcomes clients from the entire Öresund region with a taste for the extraordinary.

Opening exhibition: New sculptures by Bernhard Lipsoe

The Danish sculptor Bernhard Lipsoe is known in Sweden through previous exhibitions with Tapper-Popermajer and many have interacted with the large sculpture ”Giraff” that earlier this year, after being exhibited in cities like London, Copenhagen, and Malmö, finally found its permanent residence in the Swedish town Höganäs.

The world of Lipsoe is filled with curious and very personal creations, reborn from metal and glass that become recycled and transformed by the artist, much like an alchemist creating gold.

Bernhard Lipsoe now returns to Tapper-Popermajer, this time with his largest exhibition ever. The works of art are on display during the months of October and November.

Time of opening: Thursday the 4th of October, at 4 – 7 pm, artist in attendance
Place: Galleri Tapper-Popermajer, Teckomatorp

Mother Cow transforms Teckomatorp

A 4 m high and 5.5 m long sculpture that weighs 6.5 ton will graze the grass in Teckomatorp. The sculpture will be placed well visible to those traveling by train between Malmö and Helsingborg and in direct connection with the gallery entrance and the exhibition of Lipsoe. A Danish grazing cow will become the symbol for the future of Teckomatorp and a cultural injection into the municipality of Svalöv. Mother Cow is a loan from the Danish company Thise Mejerier that owns the sculpture, and the expensive transport is made possible through collaborations with several generous contributors, listed below.

This happens on the 1st of October

Sunday evening, Mother Cow is loaded onto a big trailer in the Danish town Skive on Fyn and thereafter a long journey waits before she arrives to Teckomatorp on Monday morning, around 10 am. Once the bridge is crossed, the transport will accompanied by a Swedish escorting car. Directly after the arrival to Teckomatorp, the artist and the parties responsible for the arrangement will be available for questions and photography.

This happens on the 4th of October

Because of the visit of Bernhard Lipsoe´s Mother Cow to Teckomatorp, the sculpture will be officially inaugurated at the same time as (1) the gallery itself and the exhibition of Lipsoe and (2) the culture weeks of the municipality of Svalöv. A secret official representative will perform the inauguration.

Bernhard Lipsoe will be in attendance, introducing his exhibition to visitors.

Music composed especially for the occasion, using sampled sounds, will be performed by the group Neurobash, strategically positioned on the roof of the station building.

Olle Steen, a resident of Teckomatorp, will tell tales from Teckomatorp in older times - and talk about the history of the station building.

Many other events will be offered both inside and outside the gallery. There will for instance be served a ”Thise-plade” at Traktens Mat & Café, which is another establishment located in the station building.

Time: Thursday the 4th of October, at 4 – 7 pm
Place: The station building, Teckomatorp
