The Gallery & Café in Teckomatorp

In 2007, the old station building in Teckomatorp was transformed by Hans Tapper and Patrik Nyholm to host the Tapper-Popermajer Art Gallery and the café / specialty shop TraktensMat & Café (www.traktensmat.se). Teckomatorp is located at the very center of the Swedish-Danish Øresund region and is easily accessible by car or by local trains (see map). The transformed station now attracts visitors from the major cities of the region by the quality and uniqueness of the services and experiences offered.

What's in it for you?

The Tapper-Popermajer art gallery was for many years located in Malmö and has built a strong reputation through its representation of some of the finest contemporary artists. Over the years, the gallery has gained the trust of clients and artists and many of these have become close personal friends.

In Teckomatorp, clients of the gallery can expect a further refinement of the gallery profile and exciting exhibitions of internationally acclaimed artists. One thing you can be sure of, this is NOT the usual "gallery in the countryside". The exhibition program will be complemented with other activities requested by gallery clients, e.g. invited lecturers and musical soirées. Food and drink can be served on the premises and requests for special group activities can be accommodated. There is even a conference facility and a hotel located in Teckomatorp, namely Pensionat Villa Mariestén (www.mariesten.m.se). Teckomatorp thus can provide excellent get-away conditions for various groups.

Your best guides to contemporary art

Hans Tapper has a background in medical research (you can read about it at www.membrane-traffic.com) but has also studied various humanistic subjects at the university, including history of ideas, literature, music, and art history. Hans is a resident of Teckomatorp since 1983 when he purchased a house in the center of the old village. Here, selected art objects are on display for invited clients.

Ilona Popermajer is the owner of Galleri Tapper-Popermajer, but also one of the artists that is represented at the gallery in Teckomatorp. From 2008, her studio is located in Teckomatorp. Since it can be difficult to perform dual roles as both gallery owner and artist, inquiries regarding her works are handled by Hans Tapper.
